Beyond the Music

When internationally renowned DJs, electrifying sounds and an enthusiastic crowd come together, the result is more than just another night out. At the heart of "Ante Perry & Friends" is DJ and host Ante Perry, whose passion for electronic music, instinct for exceptional artists and distinctive presence shape the character of the entire event series. Together with an ever-changing line-up of guests from the international DJ scene, he creates musical encounters that make every event a unique experience.

Organised by ECONVENT, the event series regularly transforms Studio Freischütz in Schwerte into a meeting place for electronic music enthusiasts. Bringing together established names from the club scene and a welcoming, personal atmosphere, these events create a special connection between artists and their audience.

Bernd Hagen from ECONVENT has played a particularly important role in my involvement. We also know each other through his work as the drummer of the band Grand Plaisir. It is thanks to him that I had the opportunity to photograph this event series. What began as a personal connection has developed into a collaboration that continues to offer fascinating insights into the world of live events.

Since 2025, I have been documenting "Ante Perry & Friends" through my camera. My attention is not only on the international guest artists behind the decks, but also on Ante Perry himself, the people in front of the stage and the countless little moments in between. It is these spontaneous, unplanned moments that make event photography so fascinating to me.

The photographs in this collection tell stories of different nights, musical encounters and the extraordinary energy that emerges when music brings people together.

October 30, 2026 | Studio Freischütz, Schwerte

Guess who's back? The answer was unmistakable: Westbam! Following his celebrated appearance the previous year, the legendary figure of Germany's electronic music scene returned to Studio Freischütz in Schwerte. Together with Ante Perry, Phil Fuldner and Harris, he delivered a night of driving beats, electrifying performances and an exuberant club atmosphere. The title "Guess Who's Back" was more than just a theme – it was a promise that had fans eagerly anticipating his return.

Visually, this event had a distinctive character of its own. Elaborate space-themed decorations transformed the venue into a futuristic environment. Surrounded by cosmic elements, dramatic lighting and the energy of the dancefloor, I discovered exciting photographic perspectives throughout the night. The interplay between the unusual setting, the artists behind the decks and an audience celebrating Westbam's return made this event particularly memorable.

Perrydise Motel

May 30, 2026 | Spatengarten, Freischütz Schwerte

Summer vibes, electronic beats and festival atmosphere under the open sky: "Perrydise Motel" transformed the Spatengarten at Freischütz in Schwerte into a gathering place for electronic music lovers. The musical highlight was Turntablerocker, featuring Michael "Michi" Beck, also known as a member of the legendary German hip-hop group Die Fantastischen Vier, and Thomas "Thomilla" Burchia. The duo captivated the audience with their distinctive sound and energetic performance. Together with Ante Perry, Phil Fuldner, TTeo and Jörgi, they delivered a diverse musical programme that began in the afternoon and kept the atmosphere alive well into the evening.

From a photographic perspective, this open-air event had a charm of its own. While Jörgi opened the musical programme, the garden gradually filled with visitors. What began as a relaxed summer afternoon evolved into a lively celebration of music, encounters and shared moments. Natural light, the close connection between artists and audience and the atmosphere of a summer evening offered countless opportunities for authentic photographs and fresh perspectives.

Glitter & Groove

February 6, 2026 | Studio Freischütz, Schwerte

1,200 guests, a sold-out venue and international house music at its finest: "Glitter & Groove" transformed Studio Freischütz in Schwerte into a club bursting with energy. The musical highlight of the night was The Shapeshifters, represented by Simon Marlin. With his distinctive house sound and instinctive connection to the crowd, he created unforgettable moments on the dancefloor. Alongside Phil Fuldner, Howard Schorf, Ante Perry and Tom Novy, the evening truly lived up to its name.

As the official event photographer, I once again had the opportunity to document the night. What fascinated me most was the interaction between the artists' stage presence, the spectacular lighting and the enthusiasm of 1,200 guests. From moments of intense concentration behind the decks to the exuberant atmosphere in the crowd, the photographs capture more than just an event – they preserve the energy of a night that continued to resonate long after the music stopped.

Another Legend

October 31, 2025 | Studio Freischütz, Schwerte

A legend behind the decks: With Westbam taking centre stage at "Another Legend", one of the defining figures of Germany's electronic music scene became the highlight of the night. Together with Ante Perry, Phil Fuldner and Flo Mrzdk, he delivered a Halloween event that focused less on costumes and elaborate staging and more on uncompromising sounds, driving beats and an intense club atmosphere.

Surrounded by darkness, strobe lights and a crowd responding to every beat, the night developed its own distinctive energy. From a photographic perspective, I was particularly drawn to the interplay between music, space and people: moments of concentration behind the decks, spontaneous reactions on the dancefloor and those fleeting instances when the entire atmosphere seems to come together in a single frame.

Perrydise Garden

Club vibes from the afternoon and driving beats deep into the night: "Perrydise Garden" transformed Studio Freischütz in Schwerte into a pulsating dancefloor. Moonbootica, Beck to Pony, TTeo and host Ante Perry delivered powerful basslines, infectious grooves and an intense light show, creating an atmosphere that kept the crowd moving from the very beginning.

Commissioned by Ante Perry, I had the opportunity to photograph the entire indoor event – from the first beats in the afternoon to the final tracks late at night. The result was a collection of images filled with movement, emotion and vibrant club energy. My focus was on the artists, the enthusiastic audience and those spontaneous, unexpected moments that make live event photography so rewarding.

30 Jahre Peppermint Jam

30 years of Peppermint Jam – a special anniversary celebrated alongside Lena and Ante Perry's birthdays. With Mousse T., Phil Fuldner, Emma Lanford and Ante Perry, outstanding artists came together for a night of musical memories, infectious house grooves and soulful vocals. An enthusiastic crowd and an electrifying atmosphere made this anniversary celebration a truly memorable occasion.

For me, the photographic journey began long before the first beat. From the setup and preparations to the soundchecks and the vibrant party atmosphere, I had the opportunity to capture the many different sides of this event. The contrast between the quieter moments behind the scenes and the energy on the dancefloor was particularly fascinating.
