Precision, calm, and a clear presence
I met Dominika in 2019 during a casting for my workshops.
From the very first frames, it became clear that she brought a distinctive presence — confident, expressive, and with a refined sense for posture and light.

The work from this period was created in 2019 and 2020 during various workshops that I led. Whether in the studio or on location, Dominika had a natural ability to absorb light and ideas, translating them into her own clear and elegant expression.

Her strength lies in her calm. In her precision. In a presence that doesn’t need to add anything to be effective.
A quality that runs through all the images and gives them a quiet depth.

In 2020, Dominika moved on to explore the world.
For a while, I followed her path as she worked internationally — carrying the same clarity and presence that had already defined our collaborations.

It’s always rewarding to see someone find their own path — and pursue it with such natural confidence.

A moment emerging from stillness – reduced to light, shadow, and the strength of a single pose. Nothing distracts, nothing competes. Only form, only presence. Created in autumn 2019 during one of my workshops with Dominika, this image grew out of that quiet space where light and body begin to speak – subtle, restrained, and entirely without words. The composition leaves room. For thoughts, for interpretation, for everything that doesn’t need to be shown to be felt. An image that celebrates reduction. And the quiet power of holding back. – Ein Moment, geboren aus der Stille – reduziert auf Licht, Schatten und die Kraft einer Pose. Nichts lenkt ab, nichts drängt sich auf. Nur Form, nur Präsenz. Entstanden im Herbst 2019 während eines meiner Workshops mit Dominika, in genau diesem leisen Raum, in dem Licht und Körper beginnen, miteinander zu sprechen – zurückhaltend, ruhig und ganz ohne Worte. Die Komposition lässt Raum. Für Gedanken, für Interpretation, für alles, was nicht gezeigt werden muss, um spürbar zu sein. Ein Bild, das Reduktion feiert. Und die leise Kraft der Zurückhaltung.

A glance, a movement, a brief pause – and an entire story begins to take shape between the lines. – Wie ein leiser Widerhall aus Licht und Schatten – entstanden im Herbst 2019 während eines meiner Workshops mit Dominika. Dieses Bild erzählt nicht laut, sondern in Andeutungen. Ein Blick, eine Bewegung, ein kurzes Innehalten – und schon formt sich eine ganze Geschichte zwischen den Zeilen.

A quiet moment, captured in the interplay of light and shadow. Created in autumn 2019 during one of my workshops with Dominika – as so often, to demonstrate the image idea and the effect of light to my participants up close. A photograph that shows how an entire atmosphere can emerge from a single light source. – Ein leiser Moment, eingefangen im Spiel aus Licht und Schatten. Entstanden im Herbst 2019 während eines meiner Workshops mit Dominika – wie so oft, um meinen Teilnehmern die Bildidee und die Wirkung des Lichts hautnah zu demonstrieren. Ein Foto, das zeigt, wie aus einer einfachen Lichtquelle eine ganze Stimmung entstehen kann.

„Natural Presence“ | Dominika by Frank Eckgold — „Natural Presence“
A gaze that feels immediate, almost within reach. Nothing stands between the moment and the viewer – no distance, no distraction. Created in the studio in January 2020 with internationally successful model Dominika, this portrait focuses on clarity and authenticity. The background, by the way, is real – traditionally set up in the studio, without any AI trickery. The light remains soft and honest, revealing skin, texture, and nuance without exaggeration. Color adds warmth, but never takes control. Everything stays balanced, grounded, real. The expression is calm, self-contained, yet open enough to invite a second look. A portrait that doesn’t need to prove anything – it simply exists. – Ein Blick, der nah wirkt, fast greifbar. Nichts steht zwischen dem Moment und dem Betrachter – keine Distanz, keine Ablenkung. Entstanden im Studio im Januar 2020 mit dem international erfolgreichen Model Dominika, steht dieses Portrait ganz im Zeichen von Klarheit und Authentizität. Der Hintergrund ist übrigens echt – klassisch im Studio aufgebaut, ganz ohne KI-Trickserei. Das Licht bleibt weich und ehrlich, zeigt Haut, Struktur und Nuancen ohne Übertreibung. Die Farbe bringt Wärme, ohne sich in den Vordergrund zu drängen. Alles bleibt ausgewogen, ruhig, echt. Der Ausdruck ist gelassen, in sich ruhend, und doch offen genug, um einen zweiten Blick einzuladen. Ein Portrait, das nichts beweisen muss – es ist einfach da.

A play of light and shadow, created in winter 2020 during one of my workshops with Dominika. The image primarily served to illustrate the studio setup and the effect of the lighting to the participants – while also showing how much atmosphere can be created with minimal light. – Ein Spiel aus Licht und Dunkel, entstanden im Winter 2020 während eines meiner Workshops mit Dominika. Das Bild diente vor allem dazu, den Teilnehmern das Set im Studio und die Wirkung des Lichtsetups zu veranschaulichen – und gleichzeitig zu zeigen, wie viel Atmosphäre mit minimalem Licht entstehen kann.

„Whispers by Candlelight“ | Dominika by Frank Eckgold — „Whispers by Candlelight“
A moment shaped by shadow and flame. The light doesn’t illuminate – it reveals, softly, selectively, leaving space for silence in between. Created during my studio workshop “beauty goes nude” in winter 2020, this image emerged in those in-between moments where I picked up the camera myself – often to demonstrate the idea, the light, or the setup to the participants. The “window” in the background? Not a real one. Just a textile studio backdrop, carefully chosen to create exactly this atmosphere. Between darkness and glow, a quiet intensity unfolds. Not staged to impress – but to resonate. – Ein Moment, geformt aus Schatten und Flamme. Das Licht beleuchtet nicht – es enthüllt, leise und selektiv, und lässt Raum für das Dazwischen. Entstanden im Rahmen meines Studio-Workshops „beauty goes nude“ im Winter 2020, ergab sich dieses Bild in den Momenten dazwischen, in denen ich selbst zur Kamera griff – oft, um Bildidee, Licht oder Setup für meine Teilnehmer zu veranschaulichen. Das „Fenster“ im Hintergrund? Kein echtes Fenster. Sondern ein textiler Studiohintergrund, bewusst gewählt für genau diese Atmosphäre. Zwischen Dunkelheit und Licht entfaltet sich eine stille Intensität. Nicht inszeniert, um zu beeindrucken – sondern um nachzuwirken.
