A Brief Moment. Images That Remain.

I worked with Julia H. in 2011 during several intense studio sessions. It was a short, but remarkably focused period — one in which images were created that still resonate today.

Julia brought a special combination of calm, expression, and natural presence in front of the camera. During that time, we created not only classic studio portraits, but also series with a symbolic, almost cinematic visual language — including my reinterpretation of the iconic American Beauty motif.

A few workshops accompanied this collaboration as well — moments in which Julia was not only a model, but also a source of inspiration and orientation for others in front of the camera.

After 2011, our paths drifted apart. But the photographs remain: snapshots of an encounter that may have been brief, yet carries its own distinct intensity.

Some of these images are now part of The Darkness of Light — reduced, quiet, shaped by presence. A reminder that a collaboration does not need many years to leave a lasting trace.
