Photography project for “Department Orange” – CD cover & booklet

In 2011, I was closely involved in the visual design of the CD cover and booklet for the music project Department Orange. The project was created in collaboration with Dirk Resch and the RMD Music Project, bringing together creative minds from music and photography. In addition to the CD design, I was responsible for the complete photographic production — all images for the cover and booklet were created in my photo studio.

A special element of the CD is the song “Only My Dream” by Dortmund-based singer Sarah Göthling [@sarah_goethling_music], which appears in three different versions. To complement this, a small but carefully curated selection of portrait photographs was created to visually support her presence and the character of the song. A few selected images were included in the booklet, blending harmoniously into the overall design of the release.

The project was an exciting challenge and an inspiring interplay of photography, design, and music. The close collaboration with the artists and the creative freedom involved made it a special milestone in my work as a photographer and designer.
