Two Encounters. One Quiet Intensity. In the spring of 2007, two shoots took place with Nina — one in the studio, one on location. Two different settings, two distinct moods, connected by a shared calm that runs through both series.
At the time, Nina brought a natural ease in front of the camera. Open, curious, and without exaggeration, she carried exactly the kind of presence that allowed us to work with reduced setups. Clear lines, restrained lighting, and quiet compositions defined this phase of my studio work.

One or two workshops also accompanied our collaboration. Yet at its core, it was these few encounters that set the tone: focused, unhurried, and shaped by mutual trust.
The images live from nuances — from gazes that do not seek to explain, and from moments that are simply allowed to exist. Sometimes clear and direct, sometimes quiet and almost incidental. Light and environment support the scene without pushing themselves forward.
After these shoots, our paths did not cross again.
But the photographs remained — quiet traces of a short yet intense phase of my photographic journey. Reduced, honest, and fully present. Some of these works can also be found in my Fine Art Books Face to Face and The Darkness of Light.
Both projects continue the reduced visual language that already shaped this early collaboration.
