A brief encounter that lingers
Karolina, also known as CarolineCream, came to my studio for a casting in 2017. A first encounter shaped by curiosity, focus, and a quiet openness in front of the camera.
During this session, the photographs were created that later found their way into this book. Images that do not seek attention, but emerge from the moment — shaped by awareness, trust, and a subtle understanding of what unfolds between camera and person.

There were no further independent shoots.
However, in 2017 and 2018, we worked together in several workshops. Encounters in a different setting, with a different rhythm — yet still connected by a shared foundation.
After that, our paths gradually drifted apart, as it sometimes happens.
Without conflict, without a conscious farewell.
What remains is a small but distinctive body of work.

„Almost“
Dieses Portrait entstand 2017 im Studio und zeigt Karolina in einem Moment zwischen Spannung und Loslassen.
Der Blick ist nicht ganz greifbar, der Ausdruck offen – fast tastend. Ein Augenblick kurz vor dem Entstehen oder kurz danach.
Das Licht folgt den Konturen, das Haar löst sich, die Hand sucht Halt.
Nichts ist festgelegt, nichts abgeschlossen.
Ein Gesicht im Übergang – verletzlich, präsent, lebendig.

The gaze is not entirely graspable, the expression open — almost searching. A moment just before something begins, or just after.
The light follows the contours, the hair loosens, the hand seeks support.
Nothing is fixed, nothing concluded.
A face in transition — vulnerable, present, alive.
„Between Fragility and Edge“
Ein Blick, der sich nicht festlegt – irgendwo zwischen Nähe und Distanz.
Die Hand hebt sich leicht, fast suchend, als würde sie einen Moment festhalten wollen, der längst im Begriff ist zu verschwinden.
Spitze Formen im Hintergrund, weich fallendes Haar im Vordergrund.
Kontraste, die sich nicht widersprechen, sondern gegenseitig verstärken.
Zart und gleichzeitig unnahbar, offen und doch unerreichbar.
Die Farbe der Lippen setzt einen klaren Akzent – ein leiser Bruch in einer ansonsten fast entrückten Szenerie.
Ein Bild zwischen Zerbrechlichkeit und Kante.

The hand lifts gently, almost searching, as if trying to hold onto a moment already slipping away.
Sharp shapes in the background, soft strands of hair in the foreground.
Contrasts that don’t oppose each other, but intensify one another.
Delicate and at the same time distant, open yet unreachable.
The color of the lips creates a clear accent – a subtle break within an otherwise almost ethereal scene.

„Closed Eyes“
Dieses Portrait entstand 2017 im Studio und zeigt Karolina in einem Moment völliger Ruhe.
Die geschlossenen Augen nehmen dem Blick seine Richtung – und geben dem Gesicht Raum. Raum für Formen, für Linien, für Haut. Für das, was bleibt, wenn der Ausdruck nicht erzählt, sondern einfach ist.
Das Bild lebt von Reduktion: kein Ablenkungsmanöver, kein Kontext, kein Außen. Nur Präsenz.
Die Spannung entsteht zwischen Weichheit und Klarheit, zwischen Verletzlichkeit und Kontrolle.
Ein Gesicht, das nichts erklären muss – und gerade dadurch alles sagt.

Keine Geste ist zufällig, nichts wirkt beiläufig – alles ist bewusst gesetzt.
Zwischen Kontrolle und Verletzlichkeit entsteht eine Intensität, die nicht laut sein muss.
Ein Moment, der nicht erzählt, sondern fordert.
Der nicht fragt, sondern einfach da ist.

Zwei Körper, eine Sprache aus Form und Haltung.
Still, reduziert, fast skulptural – als wäre Bewegung hier nur noch Erinnerung.
Der Blick geht nach außen, doch die Verbindung bleibt im Inneren.
Zwischen Mensch und Figur verschwimmen die Grenzen,
zwischen Lebendigkeit und Inszenierung entsteht ein leises Gleichgewicht.
Licht zeichnet Linien, betont Konturen, lässt Flächen sprechen.
Keine Ablenkung, kein Überfluss – nur Form, nur Präsenz.
Ein Dialog ohne Worte, getragen von Ruhe und Klarheit.

Der breite Hut wird zum Rahmen, die Hände zum Ausdrucksmittel.
Nichts ist zufällig, und doch wirkt alles leicht.

Die geschlossenen Augen nehmen der Welt ihren Fokus, während Haltung und Ausdruck umso klarer sprechen.
Zwischen Spannung und Loslassen entsteht ein stilles Gleichgewicht.
Die Arme umschließen den Körper, nicht als Schutz, sondern als bewusste Geste.
Kontrolle und Hingabe liegen nah beieinander – spürbar in jeder Linie, in jeder Haltung.
Reduziert auf Form, Licht und Haut wird das Bild zu einem Raum, in dem nichts erklärt werden muss.
Nur dieses leise Dazwischen, in dem alles gesagt ist, ohne laut zu werden.

Ein Moment zwischen Verbergen und Offenbaren.
Das Haar legt sich wie ein Schleier über den Blick, nimmt die Klarheit – und verstärkt genau dadurch die Wirkung.
Die Hand berührt die Lippen, tastend, fast fragend.
Keine eindeutige Geste, sondern ein Übergang zwischen Gefühl und Bewegung, zwischen Impuls und Kontrolle.
Das Bild lebt von Andeutung.
Was nicht sichtbar ist, wird umso intensiver spürbar.
Ein Spiel aus Nähe, Spannung und einem leisen Verlust von Orientierung.
